Learn to Swim

The Learn to Swim program at Monash Sport provides a safe, enjoyable and challenging environment where participants learn to love the water.

 

The Monash Sport Aquatic Mission


The aim of the aquatic team at Monash Sport is that our participants and members learn to love the water as we do!


The aquatic journey participants will follow at Monash Sport will include:


  • Developing respect and awareness of the water
  • Water safety and water survival knowledge
  • Skill and stroke development and refinement
  • Innovative programming and best practice within the aquatic industry.

Aquatic pathways are further developed by offering a variety of aquatic programs for all ages and abilities including educational, recreational and competitive aquatic activities. Our friendly, experienced and AUSTSWIM qualified staff will engage and empower our participants to reach their potential, developing skills that are for life!

Key Program Features

Learn to Swim Lessons

Feature small class sizes and are designed for participants aged 3.5 years and over.

Instructors
All our instructors hold the AUSTSWIM teacher of swimming and water safety qualification and have undergone a Working with Children Check.

Complimentary Practice Swimming
All participants enrolled into learn to swim lessons are encouraged to attend the facility outside of normal lesson time to practice skills learnt during their lesson.

Progress Reports & Certificates
Participants receive a progress report at the end of each term outlining accomplishments and areas for development in their achievement level. On completion of each achievement
level, a certificate is awarded.

Complimentary Make Up Classes
Two make up classes are available per term with at least 24 hours notification of absence from a scheduled class.

Additional Lessons
Participants are encouraged to enrol in additional lessons. Monash Sport offers a discount on the second lesson.

New Enrolments
A booking is required for a free swimming assessment. This assessment will establish the appropriate level for your child’s enrolment. Following the assessment, our Customer Service Officers will work with you to find a suitable lesson time.

Aquatic Pathways


On completion of the Learn to Swim program, participants can further develop their aquatic skills and enhance their aquatic journey in the following programs:

  • Swim Fit
  • Bronze Star/Bronze Medallion
  • Monash University Water Polo Club
  • Monash University Underwater Hockey Club

  • The cost of each lesson is based on the duration of each lesson; below
  • Enrolments will be cancelled if FULL payment has not been received by the first week of term.
