About the Doug Ellis Swimming Pool

Monash University has three heated indoor pools under the one roof.

There are two 25 metre, 6 lane indoor heated pools, one of which has a "variable depth" floor. This means that the floor can be adjusted so that the effective depth of the pool is anywhere from 0 to 2.1 metres, making it equally suitable for beach entry family activities and for sports like waterpolo and SCUBA diving.

The main 25 metre pool, has a free form leisure pool attached, accomodating both lap swimming and small children.

There is also a spa, sauna and steam room which adds another dimension to the family aquatic experience.

Our centre provides the Monash community and general public with a facility that is virtually unmatched in the area for flexibility and quality.

All pools are open to the public and in addition to general swimming, a range of other activities is offered. This includes Learn To Swim classes, Tri-Swim squad training and schools swimming programs.
