Nine Uni Blues volleyballers in national training squad

Nine members of the University Blues women’s volleyball team have been invited to the Australian Senior Women’s Volleyball Squad training camp in July.

Lauren Bertolacci, Rhiannon Watt, Tarsha Praski, Erin Ross, Louise Bates, Danielle Stott, Rebecca Walter, Shannon Campbell and Neira Borcic were picked to attend the camp, which will be a selection tool for the national team to compete in the 1st Asia Cup in Thailand.

The camp will follow on from the Women’s AVL Finals in Sydney.  

Uni Blues is a collaboration between Monash and Melbourne university volleyball clubs.

The team is on a successful four-game winning streak after the second round of the Australian Volleyball League. The wins put them solidly in second place behind UTS/Sydney Uni.

Watt, Bertolacci and Bates were selected in the Australian team for the Abu Dhabi International Women's Volleyball Tournament in May.
