Triathlon Victoria testing day at Monash UniversityMonday 21 SeptemberKatie Bird - Media Intern Monash University in collaboration with Triathlon Victoria and the Victorian Institute of Sport will be hosting a talent identification day to discover the future generation of Australian Triathlon Champions. The talent search which will be held at Clayton Campus on Saturday October 10 is backed by the National Talent Identification and Development (NTID) program and aims to identify talented athletes and prepare them for future competition at national and international levels. The identification day will be held at Monash Sport, Building 1, Monash University Clayton campus. Participants will be run through a combination of swimming and athletic tests to determine their potential for elite triathlon competition. Potential athletes identified on the day will be given the opportunity to pursue a career in triathlon in a high-quality talent development program. This opportunity is a direct result of the partnership between Monash University and Triathlon Victoria which will allow for development of future athletes through the Student Health and Education Program (SHEP), enabling athletes to continue their tertiary studies while maintaining their commitment to sport. The talent identification day is open to 16 to 26 year olds who consider themselves good swimmers or athletes.
