Monash beats Melbourne in the snow
Thursday 6 August
The Victorian Intervarsity Alpine Championships were held again at Mt. Buller for four days of high quality racing from 23 to 26 July.
The championships brings together all the University ski clubs in Victoria. Monash University have not won since 2005 and, last year Melbourne University wrestled it from our grasp by under 50 points.
Seven different skiing and snowboarding events were hotly contested, and Monash University walked away winning best skier and snowboarder in the male and female divisions, and the championships outright in convincing fashion.
Well done to the following Monash University students for their efforts.
Male skier - won by Tim Lane
Female skier - won by Priska McDonald
Male snowboarder - won by Cam Bolton
Female snowboarder - won by Rachel Fitzpatrick
The Monash University snowsports club is eagerly awaiting the Australian University Snow Sports Championships to be held between Sunday 30 August and Thursday 3 September, 2009 in Thredbo National Park.
