Gun golfer grabs gold
8 July 2008
Monash student and VIS scholarship holder Stephanie Brennan led the field with partner Clare Choi to tie for first place in the Victorian Amateur Foursomes Championship.
Brennan, a first-year Business student who also completed two years of a Science degree, and Choi finished on 156, tying with Adelaide golfers Sarah King and Jovanna Bozanic at Peninsula Country Golf Club on 6 July.
Blustery winds made some of the holes difficult and the South course provided a challenge for competitors who travelled from around Victoria and interstate.
Brennan, representing Yarra Yarra Golf Club, also shot a first round 78 in the Victorian Amateur Championship on 7 July.
Her fine form continues after some successful results this year, including a win in the Metropolitan Pennant Section final and gaining enough points early in the year to be third in the state rankings.
