340 Monash University athletes heading to the University Games

Athletes who will represent Monash University at the Australian University Games were presented with their uniforms on Friday 15 th September. The students will compete in Adelaide from the 24 th -29 th September.

There will be 340 Monash athletes competing in 25 sports at the games, with the sports ranging from cycling to netball to soccer. There are 36 Monash teams across these sports. The teams are fired up from their success as overall champions at the Southern University Games that were held in July.

Monash University overall team captains were announced at the uniform presentation, selected from excellent nominations. The captains will be Raq Hassan from beach volleyball and Aimee Buchan from Australian Rules football.

Raq is very excited about his captaincy role and stated "Monash University 's sporting programs are revered by many universities around Australia. As students we are very lucky to be exposed to these sporting opportunities during our academic lives."
