What is the Around the Bay in a Day?

"Around the Bay" is one of the world's biggest and most popular cycling participation events. With a choice of four ride distances (250km, 210km, 100km or 50km), once again this year's event offers a challenge for riders of all abilities. The start/finish area will return to the Alexandra Gardens, the most popular and successful location to date for this event.

The ride takes in some of Melbourne's most scenic and popular riding routes around Port Phillip Bay and includes the West Gate Bridge, Beach Road and the Bellarine Peninsula.

Each year Monash University enters a team in the Around the Bay in a Day bike ride.

Around the Bay supports charity work

The Smith Family is the charity linked to this event. The entire entry fee goes to Bicycle Victoria - TeamMONASH™ does not receive any of the fee. The Smith family generates funds only through riders which take on the fundraising challenge. Click here to support a rider.

All TeamMONASH™ participants are encouraged to seek sponsorship from their friends, family and colleagues to help support The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program. This provides educational, financial and personal support to disadvantaged Australian children.

Research shows a direct link between the incidence of poverty and level of education. The higher the level of education, the lower the risk of disadvantage. Sponsorship for any amount ($2 and over) is tax deductible.

Come on TeamMONASH™, let's see how much we can raise!
