AUG expenses and subsidies

A number of subsidies are provided for all students competing at the Australian University Games. The Sport Manager for each team will communicate further information with team members once final teams are selected. Below is a brief outline of the expenses involved in this amazing week:

  • Flights - Flights are to be booked by and paid for by the student. This will cost aprox $150-$500 return, depending on when you book and who you fly with.
  • Accommodation - Students, in conjunction with their team, will be required to book their own accommodation. Part of the accomodation expense will be subsidesed for all competitors. Monash Sport will be subsidising accommodation by approximately $25 per student per night.
  • Transport on the Gold Coast - Students will have access to a special AUG bus service organised by AUS for aproximately $40, however Monash Sport advises all teams to use rental cars. Students will be required to pay, Monash Sport will book on the teams behalf. This will cost aprox $70-$100 per person for the week (plus petrol), depending on how many are in the team and what vehicles are booked.
  • Registrations - To be processed online at www.unigames.com.au and paid for by the student. $150. Registrations close in August.
  • Walk on uniforms - Monash Sport will be providing all competitors with a Team MONASH shirt, plus some other items, all to keep, at no extra charge.
  • Playing uniforms - Depending on the sport, students will be provided with a playing uniform, to be returned at the end of the competition. Eg. Swimmers don't have a playing uniform, Judo uses own gear, etc.
