Australian University Games (AUG)

28 September - 3 October, 2008

until AUG in 2008!

Monash University is the Principal Partner University for Australia's largest annual multi-sport event, the 2008 Australian University Games. The games will be held over the Semester 2 break (Sunday 28 September - Friday 3 October) and will include up to 28 individual and team sports.

After a strong performance finishing second overall in 2007 on the Gold Coast, TeamMONASH™ will be ready for bigger things in 2008 when the games return to our home turf - Melbourne.

Monash offers a huge range of opportunities for students to participate in the Games. From supporting to volunteering to competing, everyone can be involved!

AUG Media Launch - Tues 22 July

Melbourne City councillors and Australian University Sport representatives helped to launch the Australian University Games at the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Parkville on 22 July.

Promising the Games would be the biggest and best yet, Australia University Sport president Dr Jeff Fitzgerald thanked Monash University and supporting partners for their role in preparing to host the 15th annual Games. "We're deeply indebted to all these people who often take a week off work to make the games work," he said.

Games Patron and Monash University student Luke Ball was also at the launch and is looking forward to "wearing the Monash t-shirt" all week.
